stopApp

Command

Stops the application and service

Send this JSON-RPC message in the BND_MESSAGE extra of an Intent with the action ACTION_RNC_BROADCAST, to BeNav's activity or receiver: see Sending commands.

Shuts BeNav down completely: any guidance in progress is stopped, the RNC service is stopped and the process exits. Intended for the end of a shift, or for a managed device where the client application controls what runs.

Worth knowing

  • This is a full shutdown, not a pause. Nothing further can be sent over RNC until BeNav is launched again, and launching it is not something RNC can do.
  • onAppStatusChanged carries a final appStopped event before the process exits, so the client application can record that navigation ended deliberately rather than crashed.
