Computes horizontal center of the visible area.
Only computes a position during NAVIGATION and MAP_VIEW states (where GPS tracking is active and vehicle position matters). Returns null for other states (ROUTE_PREVIEW, SEARCH, SETTINGS) where vehicle position is irrelevant.
